Explore the possibilities of your land on BirdDog
Your property profile is your home base on BirdDog. It's where you manage your land data, list experiences, set up accommodations, handle leases, invite your team, and access tools that help you make the most of your property. Everything lives in one place — no jumping between platforms.
Here's a walkthrough of every section and what you can do with it.
Getting to Your Property Profile
From your BirdDog dashboard, click "Properties" in the main navigation. You'll see your Property Portfolio — a card for each parcel you've claimed, showing the address, max guests, activities, and bookings at a glance.
To open a property's full profile, click the "Manage" button on the parcel tile. That takes you into the property profile, where you'll see five tabs across the top: Land Overview, Experiences, Food & Accommodations, Lease Summary, and Team Management. On the right side, you'll find the Landowner Toolkit — a sidebar with resources and guides we'll cover later in this article.
Your Land at a Glance — Property Data & Map
The Land Overview tab is the first thing you see when you open a property profile. It gives you a snapshot of your land data, including total parcels, total acres, land value, agricultural value, and total value. This data is pulled automatically when you claim your land, so you don't need to enter it manually.
At the top of the page, you'll see an interactive 3D map of your property powered by LandID. You can zoom in and out, rotate the view, switch between layers and basemaps, and get a real sense of how your property sits on the landscape. This is the same map view that helps hunters and guests understand your terrain, so it's worth exploring to see what they'll see.
If you have multiple parcels, they'll be listed below the map. You can view each one individually or add additional parcels to your property.
Uploading Property Photos
Photos are one of the biggest factors in whether a hunter clicks on your listing or scrolls past it. In the top-right corner of your Land Overview, you'll see an option to upload photos of your property. These images will be displayed on your marketplace listing, so they're worth getting right.
Upload photos that show what makes your property special — the land itself, the views, the wildlife, the lodging, the experience. We recommend at least five strong photos to give hunters a complete picture of what to expect.
For detailed guidance on what to shoot, how to frame it, and what performs best on the marketplace, check out our Photography Best Practices guide.
Creating and Managing Experiences
The Experiences section is where your property becomes a business. This is where you create the hunting, fishing, and outdoor experiences that get listed on the BirdDog marketplace for hunters and guests to find and book.
To create a new experience, click "+ Add Experience." You'll fill out a few key fields: experience name, a description of what guests can expect, photos specific to that experience, minimum and maximum duration in days, and minimum and maximum number of participants.
Each experience also has a Published Status. When you first create one, it's saved as a "Draft" — visible only to you. When you're ready for hunters to see it, switch the status to published and it goes live on the marketplace.
One of the most useful features here is the ability to add individual activities within each experience. Click "+ Add Activity" inside any experience to break it down further. If you're running a three-day guided elk hunt that includes a day of fishing, you can list each activity separately with its own details and pricing. This gives you granular control over what you offer and how you price it, and it gives hunters a clear picture of exactly what they're booking.
You can also block specific date ranges on any experience. If your spring turkey season is booked up or you need to close out a week for personal use, add a blocked date range and those dates won't be available for booking.
Food & Accommodations
Hunters want to know where they're staying. The Food & Accommodations tab lets you list your lodging options so guests can see exactly what's included — or available as an add-on — when they book an experience.
Click "+ Add Accommodation" to create a new listing. You'll enter the accommodation name, upload photos, write a description, and select the type of accommodation from the dropdown — options include camping, cabins, lodges, and more. You'll also set the capacity (how many people it sleeps), the price, and the pricing type (per night, per person, etc.).
If you've got a main lodge and a couple of cabins, list each one separately. Hunters browsing your listing will see the full range of what's available, and it helps them understand the complete experience before they reach out or book.
Lease Summary
The Lease Summary tab is where you manage existing leases and list new lease opportunities on the BirdDog marketplace. This is for operators who lease their land for farming, grazing, hunting, or other uses — either to existing tenants or to new prospects through the platform.
To add a new lease, click "+ Add Lease." You'll fill out the lease name, upload photos, write a description, and select the lease type, parcel ID (optional), duration, payment model, listed date, and available date.
If you already have active leases, this tab gives you a centralized view of what's in place across your property. If you're looking to open up land for upcoming seasons, listing it here puts it in front of the right audience.
One thing to note: BirdDog takes a 10% fee from the lease amount. This is noted in the lease creation form, so there are no surprises.
Team Management
You don't have to manage everything yourself. The Team Management section lets you invite team members to your property profile so they can help run the operation.
Click "+ Add Teammate" to send an invitation by email. When you invite someone, you'll choose one of two roles:
Manager — full access to edit listings, manage bookings, and view analytics. This is the role for someone who helps run the business side of your operation.
Outfitter — can manage bookings and communicate with guests. This is the role for guides, outfitters, or staff who need to interact with hunters but don't need access to the full dashboard.
Invited team members will receive an email invitation to join your property. Until they accept, they'll show as "Pending" in the team list. You can edit roles or remove team members at any time.
The Landowner Toolkit
On the right side of your property profile, you'll see the Landowner Toolkit. Think of this as your resource hub — a curated set of guides, tools, and opportunities that BirdDog puts together to help you get more out of your land.
Here's what you'll find there today:
"Find it on BirdDog" Social Logos — Downloadable logos and badges you can use on your social media, website, or marketing materials to let people know they can find and book your operation on BirdDog.
Adding Accommodations & Features that Sell — A guide to making your accommodations listing more attractive to hunters and guests. Worth reading before you set up your Food & Accommodations tab.
Maximizing Off-Season Income — Ideas and strategies for generating revenue from your land during the months when hunting isn't in season.
Profile Checklist — A quick-reference checklist to make sure your property profile is complete and optimized. If you're wondering "did I miss anything?" — start here.
Intro to Section 180 Deductions — An overview of Section 180 tax deductions that may apply to your land. BirdDog helps landowners discover eligible conservation expenditures that could reduce your tax burden.
Your Referral Link — A shareable link you can send to other landowners. When they sign up through your link, you both benefit.
BirdDog is always adding new resources to the toolkit. This is where you'll find custom offers like financing partnerships, insurance consolidation opportunities, and other ways to make and save money on your land. Check back regularly — if there's a new way BirdDog can help your bottom line, it'll show up here.
Managing Availability
Keeping your availability current is important — it's how hunters and lessees know when your property and experiences are open for booking. You can block out dates directly on individual experiences (covered above), but for a full view of your calendar across your entire operation, head to the Calendar section of your BirdDog dashboard.
For a complete walkthrough of how to manage your calendar, block dates, and keep your availability in sync, check out our Managing Your Calendar guide.
Putting It All Together
Your property profile is the most powerful page on your BirdDog account. When it's fully built out — photos uploaded, experiences listed, accommodations added, availability set, team invited — it does the heavy lifting for you. Hunters find your operation, see exactly what you offer, and can message or book without a phone call.
If you're not sure where to start, open the Profile Checklist in the Landowner Toolkit and work through it section by section. And if you need help along the way, the BirdDog team is always here.
